L’adjudante Lamoureux, qui a commencé le programme des cadets il y a trois ans, a déclaré que rejoindre l’escadron était la meilleure décision qu’elle ait prise. Le programme vous enseigne la disci- pline, le leadership et l’engagement envers votre communauté », a-t-elle ajouté. « Depuis que je fais partie de ce programme, cela m’a aidée à grandir en tant que personne et à comprendre l’importance du travail d’équipe. Je me suis investie à 110 % et cette récom- pense témoigne de mon travail acharné et de mon engagement envers le programme. » L’adjudant Lamoreux est l’une des trois cadets qui aident à former et à superviser les cadets plus jeunes de l’escadron. Au fur et à mesure que les cadets progressent dans le programme des cadets de l’air, ils apprennent à assumer des responsabilités supplémentaires, comme être responsable d’un vol ou former les cadets plus jeunes. « Le sourire et le bonheur que vous voyez sur le visage des enfants lorsqu’ils savent qu’ils ont fait quelque chose de bien et qu’ils vous remercient de les avoir aidés à atteindre un objectif, cela en vaut vraiment la peine », a déclaré Lamoureux. « Aider les gens à at- teindre leurs objectifs, et tant de personnes m’ont aidé à atteindre les miens, m’ont motivé et m’ont poussé à m’améliorer. » L’escadron a vu le jour en septembre 1974 sous le nom de 832e Escadron Twillick d’Ottawa. En mai 2010, il a été reclassé comme escadron bilingue et son nom a été officiellement changé pour 832e Escadron Twillick Clarence-Rockland.
