Initiatives Prevention
UMADAOP of Cincinnati provides evidence-based pre- vention services that emphasize a culturally competent, client-centered, strength-based, specialized approach for program service delivery. Prevention services are pro- vided to address alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs and violence prevention strategies for youth and families that reside in Hamilton County. Intervention UMADAOP of Cincinnati Kinship Care Family Re- covery Wrap Around Program will increase family bonding and successful family reunification, as well as provide weekly instructional services focusing on the knowledge of parenting and living a healthy life- style free from drugs, alcohol and other substances. In additional to social emotional learning skills for the children to address trauma issues along with a timed cognitive behavioral group sessions and activities. MAT Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is the use of medications, in com- bination with counseling and be- havioral therapies, to provide a “whole-patient” approach to the treatment of substance use disorders. Learn how medica- tion-assisted treatment (MAT) is used to treat substance use disorders as well as sustain recovery and prevent overdose. Recovery The Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care (ROSC) modeled programs are designed to provide local, recovery-oriented systems of care service mod- eled programming to address prevention, treat- ment, and recovery support needs by supporting person-centered and self-directed approaches for substance abuse prevention, treatment, and recov- ery support services for youth and adult clients. This is an evidence-based curriculum with three main goals in mind, to increase family strength, enhance child development and reduce the likelihood of child abuse and neglect. Through these three main goals, five protective factors were created as part of the implementation of the Strengthening Families Curriculum. The five protective factors: Parental Resilience, Social Connections, Knowledge of Parenting and Child Development, Concrete Support in time of need, and Social and Emotional Com- petence of Children.
