Columbus UMADAOP's impactful presence is reflected in its di- verse range of programs and ini- tiatives: Journey for Recovery Program In the African American community, many people are unaware of counseling and treatment resources for Opioid addiction. This lack of knowledge creates a gap between individuals addicted to drugs and treat- ment; resulting in major consequences such as job loss, domestic violence, criminal offenses, homeless- ness etc. African Americans are also often reluctant to discuss when they need help or seek treatment, because of fear, shame and stigma, leading to under- estimating the effects and impact of addiction on their families. The Journey to Recovery project will bridge the gap between individuals in need of opioid treat- ment and counseling and a provider through educa- tion, mentoring, and referrals. Circle for Recovery Ohio (CFRO) The Circle for Recovery programs (CFRO) is located in and run by nine Urban Minority Alcohol and Drug Addiction Outreach Programs (UMADAOPs) across the state of Ohio.

By forging partnerships, leveraging technology, and expanding its outreach, UMADAOP envisions a future where addiction's grip is weakened, communities flourish, and every individual has the opportunity to lead a healthy, fulfilling life. umadaopfc.com
