The Genesis of Akron UMADAOP
Akron UMADAOP's inception can be traced back to the early 1980s, a time when substance abuse was ravaging communities and disproportionately affecting minority populations. Recognizing the urgent need for intervention, a group of visionary community leaders, counselors, and activists joined forces to establish an orga- nization that would address this crisis head-on. Their dedication resulted in the birth of Akron UMADAOP, a grassroots movement with a determination to heal and transform.
