ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The Future Bankers Leadership Program at Texas Southern University will prepare students with the knowledge, skills, and professional experience necessary to launch a successful career in the banking industry. Classes are conducted in a highly interactive manner with guest speakers from local businesses and banks.

• BBA students from any major • Overall GPA of 2.50 or higher • Complete Acct 231/Acct 232 BANKING MINOR • 21 hours (see catalog) • See banking faculty advisor TRANSFER STUDENTS • Scan QR for transfer admissions • Apply upon admission to TSU JOIN THE FUTURE BANKERS CLUB Freshman / Sophomore Year ADMISSION & REGISTRATION PROCESS • Meet with faculty advisor in the freshman/sophomore year • Complete an interview process • Complete admission requirements • Receive acceptance letter from faculty advisor • Apply for banking scholarship • Register for banking classes

BANKER: A banker works at a bank or financial institution. They are responsible for meeting with bank members (both individuals or companies) and helping them acquire loans through the bank. Banker candidates need to have a bachelor’s degree in either business, finance, accounting or economics to qualify for a position. AVG. SALARY: $62,576 CREDIT ANALYST: A credit analyst can work for an investment bank, an investment firm, credit card companies and any other institution where lending money is involved. They are responsible for reviewing an applicant’s financial history and credit score. Credit analysts usually have a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Economics and extensive knowledge of statistics, financial statements and ratio analysis. UP TO $64,000 INVESTMENT BANKER: Investment bankers are investment professionals who combine financial services industry expertise, analytical prowess, and effective persuasive communication skills to support institutional clients in activities like capital raising and mergers and acquisitions. To become an investment banker, you need a minimum of a bachelor’s degree. UP TO $93,159 FINANCIAL ANALYST: A financial analyst is responsible for monitoring market trends across industries and using their expertise to guide businesses and clients on when, where and how to invest. Financial analysts typically work for major corporations, financial institutions, insurance companies and banks. To become a financial analyst, you should have at least a bachelor’s degree in economics, finance or accounting. UP TO $71,049 FINANCIAL PLANNER: Financial planners assess the financial needs of individuals and help them with decisions on investments (such as stocks and bonds), tax laws, and insurance. Advisors help clients plan for short- and longterm goals, such as budgeting for education expenses and saving for retirement through investments. A bachelor’s degree is considered the bare minimum for many financial planning positions, and it’s a requirement to earn the coveted Certified Financial Planner credential. UP TO $74,435
