J ulius House has taken the deepest bow at the House Music Festival at the Christchurch Town Hall, lifting the Carey House Shield for Best House Choir. Presented by the Christ’s College Parents’ Association, it is the 89th edition of the popular – and highly competitive – College event. On the night, the Julius House rendition of California Dreamin’ has hit all the high notes with the judges, while Condell’s House has claimed the Christ’s College Parents’ Association Trophy for gaining the most points in House Music. Flower’s House has also stepped into the stage spotlight, winning two coveted inaugural awards – the House Spirit Trophy and the Conductor’s Cup for leadership and performance under the guidance of Head Prefect Ed Davidson – for its performance of Rolling in the Deep . Condell’s House has swept the board in three events – the House Choir Instrumental Backing Trophy, the Mr & Mrs CC Moore Choral Plate for Best Small Vocal Ensemble (tied with Jacobs House), and the DJ Ellison Instrumental Cup.
