___________________________________________________ C HOCOLATE PIE Jerri Moore ___________________________________________________ 1 c sugar 3 eggs 3 T flour 3 T butter 1-2/3 c milk 2-1/2 T cocoa 1tsp vanilla DIRECTIONS: Prebake pie shell. Mix all ingredients together except butter. When all are blended, layer butter on top. Place in microwave & cook for 3 mins. Stir & then cook for another 4 mins. Removed from microwave. Beat until smooth & then pour in pie shell. Toppings are optional. __________________________________________________ C HOCOLATE OR VANILLA CREAM PIE Auntie Anita Moore Offutt ___________________________________________________ 2/3 C sugar 3 tsp cornstarch 3 c milk 3 egg yokes, slightly beaten 1/2 tsp salt 1 T butter 1-1/2 tsp vanilla DIRECTIONS: Stir and gradually cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture thickens & boils. Boil for 1 min. & removed from heat. Gradually stir half of hot mixture into 3 egg yolks slightly beaten. Then blend into hot mixture in saucepan. Boil 1 min. more, stirring constantly. Removed from heat. Blend in 1 tablespoon butter & 1- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Pour into baked pie shell & top with meringue. Bake 400° moderate oven 8 to 10 minutes. For chocolate cream pie follow recipe above with these changes increase sugar to 1-1/2 cup. Add 1/2 cup cocoa or 3 packages unsweetened chocolate to sugar/cornstarch mixture. ___________________________________________________ C HOCOLATE TRUFFLE CAKE Cheryl Becton _______________________________ ____________________ Cake: Box of Devil’s Food Cake Mix - bake according to package directions Chocolate Truffle Layer:----------------------------------------------------- 7 oz Hershey’s chocolate (large bar) 1 stick of softened butter (do not melt). Just let get soft. 1/4 c whipping cream DIRECTIONS: Melt chocolate and microwave until creamy -- allowed to cool. After it has cooled, add softened butter. Then add whipping cream and blend well. For a single layer pan 9 x 13, spread the truffle mixture over the cooled cake (place in fridge for 10 min) Then spread whipping cream on top, garnish with chocolate shavings or grated chocolate. For layered torte cake, split the 2 round layers, making 4 layers. On first layer spread chocolate truffle mixture; next layer whipping cream; next layer chocolate; ending with icing on top and sides with whipping cream.
