___________________________________________________ K ARAN CHERRY’S CREME BRULEE Rosemary Hunter Klein ___________________________________________________ 1 qt cream or half-and-half 12 egg yolks 1 c sugar Pinch of salt 1 T vanilla flavoring Brown sugar DIRECTIONS: Bring cream or half-and-half to boil. Lightly beat egg yolks with sugar and salt. Add vanilla & slowly mix together with cream, stirring constantly. Strain into large casserole dish. Place dish in a pan of warm water. Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 mins or until a silver knife inserted comes out clean. Cool. Sift brown sugar on top & put under broiler just long enough to melt the sugar. Chill and serve. __________________________________________________ L EMON ICEBOX PIE Adrian Johnson ___________________________________________________ 1/2 cup Lemon juice 1 can condensed milk 3 eggs, separated 1 graham cracker crust DIRECTIONS: Combine 3 egg yolks, one can of condensed milk, & 1/2 cup of lemon juice. Then after stirring together pour into pie crust. Meringue: Put the remaining egg whites in a bowl. Add 6 tablespoons of sugar while beating. Top mixture on top of pie & place in oven at 350° untill browned. Refrigerate until ready to serve. ___________________________________________________ O LD FASHIONED LEMON PIE Pamela Jones ___________________________________________________ 2 c sugar 1 unbaked pie shell 2 T flour 2 T cornstarch 1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup lemon juice 1/2 cup melted butter 6 eggs, slightly beaten DIRECTIONS: Combine dry ingredients in bowl. Add eggs, milk, butter, & lemon juice- -mixed well. Pour into an unbaked pie shell. Bake for 30 to 40 mins.or until set. ___________________________________________________ L EMON SQUARES Tracey Binkley Jernigan ___________________________________________________ 1/2 c powdered sugar 2 c all purpose flour 1 c butter 4 eggs 2 c sugar 1/3 c lemon juice 1/2 c all purpose flour 1/2 tsp baking powder DIRECTIONS: Combined flour, powdered sugar, & butter until crumbly. Press into a greased 13 x 9 x 2” baking dish. Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 mins. In a bowl beat 4 eggs, 2 cups sugar, & lemon juice together. Mix well. Mix in 1/2 cup flour & baking powder. Pour over baked crust. Bake at 350° for 25 mins. After completely cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
