___________________________________________________ S HOOFLY PIE Evelyn Gupton ___________________________________________________ 1 c flour plain 2/3 c brown sugar 1 T shortening 1 c molasses 3/4 c boiling water 1 tsp baking soda 1 9”pie shell 1 egg, beaten DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 375°. In a small bowl mix the flour, brown sugar, & shortening to make crumbs. In a separate bowl mix the molasses hot water, egg, & baking soda. Stir in all but 1/2 cup of crumbs. Pour batter into pie crust. Top with remaining crumbs. Bake for 35 mins. __________________________________________________ S OCK-IT-TO-ME-CAKE Stacey Earle __________________________________________________ 1 pkg Duncan Hines yellow cake mix 1/2 cup sugar 3/4 c Wesson oil 8 oz sour cream 2 tsp vanilla 4 eggs DIRECTIONS: Combine all ingredients beat until smooth. Note: add eggs one at a time beating after each one. Pour 1/2 batter into tube pan. Sprinkle dry mixture: 1 tsp cinnamon, 3T brown sugar, & 1/2 c chopped pecans. Pour in remaining batter. Bake at 300° for 1 hour or done. Cool well & drizzle with icing. Icing glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 T milk, & 1 T melted butter. SARAH’S STRAWBERRY CAKE Jackie Kemp ___________________________________________________ 1 box white cake mix 1 box strawberry jello 1/2 c oil 1/2 c water 3 eggs 1 stick margarine 1 box powdered sugar Juice from strawberries 1 c drained frozen strawberries (juices reserved) DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven at 350°. Mix all ingredients until well blended. Pour mixture into greased & floured 13 x 9 pan. Bake for 40 mins. or until done. Icing: Beat margarine & sugar until blended, adding juice a tablespoon at a time until desired consistency. Then cover your cake. ___________________________________________________ S TRAWBERRY CAKE Bonnie Harris ___________________________________________________ 1 pkg white cake mix 1 box strawberry Jello 1/2 c water 1/2 cup salad oil 1 c strawberries, fresh or frozen mashed 3 whole eggs Icing: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 stick margarine 1 box powdered sugar Pinch of salt Strawberry juice DIRECTIONS: Bake 350° for 35 or 40 minutes. Pour icing over cake when cake cools.
