___________________________________________________ C ORNFLAKE CANDY Brenda Burton ___________________________________________________ 1 c sugar 1 c light corn syrup 1 c chunky peanut butter 1 c cornflakes DIRECTIONS: Combine sugar, corn syrup, & peanut butter in medium pan heating to a boil. Boil for 1-1/2 minutes then remove from heat and add cornflakes stirring. Drop by tablespoon on wax paper. Other option: 1 can coconut, raisins, chocolate chips...I add chocolate chips too! Yummy! ___________________________________________________ L AURA BUSH’S COWBOY COOKIES Mary Grey Jenkins ___________________________________________________ 3 c all-purpose flour 1 T each: baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, & Salt 3 c each chocolate chips and old-fashioned oats 3 sticks butter 1-1/2 cups white sugar 1-1/2 cups brown sugar 1 T vanilla 2 c sweetened coconut 2 c chopped pecans DIRECTIONS: Cream butter, sugars & add one egg at a time. Mix flour, spices and add to mixture. Combined thoroughly. Stir in chocolate chips, oats, coconut, & pecan mixture (will be thick) Chill two hours. Bake in oven 350° degrees for 8 to 9 mins. Rotate baking sheet & bake 7 to 8 mins more. Cool on pan five minutes. I use an ice cream scoop for same size cookies ___________________________________________________ F AST TURTLES Annette Nole Hall ___________________________________________________ 1 bag pretzel twists 1 bag Rolo Candy 1 bag pecan halves DIRECTIONS: Spread pretzel twists onto baking sheet. Unwrap Rolos & put one on top of each pretel. Bake at 450º for 60 seconds. Remove from oven. While Rolos are slightly melted, gently place one pecan half in the center of each one. Allow to cool. Enjoy your salty/sweet caramel “Fast Turtle” pretzel treats! Great for the holidays! ___________________________________________________ G OODIES Paula Quigley ___________________________________________________ Graham crackers 1 stick butter 1 stick margarine 1/2 cup sugar 1 c chopped pecans DIRECTIONS: Place a layer of graham crackers on a long cookie sheet. Boil butter, margarine & sugar for 3 minutes. Pour over crackers and spinkle pecans over evenly. Bake 350 degrees for 8 to 10 mins. Cool and break into chunks. Store in tight container.
