____________________________________________________ A PPLE PIE GOODY In loving memory of Oena Milom ___________________________________________________ 1 can pie apples 1c sugar 2 T flour 1/4 tsp cinnamon 1/4 tsp salt Combine and pour in large baking dish TOPPING:--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3/4 c brown sugar 3/4 c oats 3/4 c flour 1/4 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp soda 1/4 tsp salt 1 stick melted butter DIRECTIONS: Combine apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, & salt. Pour into a baking dish. Combine topping ingredients & crumble over the top. Bake at 350º until bubble & brown. ____________________________________________________ A PPLE PRALINE PIE Joice Weddington ___________________________________________________ 1 15 oz pkg Pillsbury all ready pie crusts FILLILNG:---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6 c thinly, sliced, peeled apples 3/4 c sugar 1 tsp flour 1/4 C flour 1 tsp cinnamon 1/4 Tsp salt 2 T margarine or butter TOPPING:---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1/4 c margarine or butter 2 T half-and-half 1/2 c firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 c chopped pecans DIRECTIONS : Prepare pie crust according to package directions for two crusts. Heat oven to 350°. In a large bowl combine apples, sugar, flour, & salt, toss lightly. Spoon apple mixture into pastry lined with margarine. Top with second crust and Flute. Cut slits in places. Bake at 350° for 50 to 55 mins until apples & crust are lightly browned. Remove from oven. In small sauce pan with margarine, stir in brown sugar & half-and- half. Heat slowly to boil remove from heat and stir in pecans. Spread over top of pie. Place on cook sheet. Return to oven bake five minutes longer until toppings bubble. Cool for at least one hour before serving. Makes 8 servings. Edge of pie crust - put strips of foil during the last 10 to 15 mins of baking if necessary to prevent excessive browning. ______________________________________________ ________________ A PPLE CAKE Suzanne Lockert-Mash ___________________________________________________ 1 c vegetable oil 2 c sugar 3 eggs 3 c plain flour 1 tsp baking soda 1c chopped pecans 3 c chopped apples 2 tsp vanilla FROSTING: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1/2 c butter 1c brown sugar 1/4 c evaporated milk 1/2 tsp vanilla DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a 9 x 13 pan. Mixed vegetable oil, eggs, sugar and vanilla. Add flour and baking soda and mix well. Add pecans and apples and pour into pan. Bake for 45 to 50 mins. Frosting: mixed together in sauce pan butter Brown sugar evaporated milk and vanilla. Bring to boil for two minutes. Place saucepan in a pan of ice water and beat frosting to desired consistency. Spread over apple cake.
