Tenant Voice Strategy In August, the Tenant Voice Strategy was launched, guiding how Believe Housing Australia will ensure tenants’ perspectives are incorporated into decision-making processes related to their housing and services over the next three years.

As a Tier 1 Community Housing Provider (CHP), Believe Housing Australia must comply with the National Regulatory Code for community housing, whereby tenants are better connected and involved in their local community. The Tenant Voice Strategy aims to build on current processes, programs, and services currently being delivered by our Tenant Engagement and Improvements team to increase tenant satisfaction and continue to place tenants at the heart of decision-making. By creating more opportunities for tenant voices to be heard, through consultation, co-design, and ongoing feedback, the Strategy will aim to build stronger community connection and resilience.

The Strategy covers four key areas

Tenant opportunities Current tenant opportunities like the Children’s University program and Home Ownership Seminar series will be continued under the Strategy to help tenants overcome barriers to education and homeownership. Tenancy projects Existing initiatives like the installation of solar panels in social and community housing will form a large part of the Strategy, helping our tenants to better manage their tenancies and reduce their general housing cost. Placemaking and area improvements Building on the success of projects such as our Gardening Competition and the Post Care Pathways greening project, this pillar of the Strategy will create vibrant, inclusive, and socially sustainable neighbourhoods designed in collaboration with tenants. Tenant review and engagement Believe Housing Australia is committed to actively involving tenants and seeking their feedback on the services and support we provide. A key measure of the success of this part of the Strategy is the formation of a new Tenant Advisory Group (TAG), designed to provide tenants with an opportunity to contribute to the design and delivery of housing to better reflect the needs of the community.
