The donation powering up digital inclusion Thanks to the support of Good360 and The Laptop Initiative (TLI), some of the young people in our Post Care Pathways (PCP), Reconnect, and Newly Arrived Youth Service (NAYS) programs were generously presented with refurbished laptops, dongles, and SIM cards with 12 months of data, all completely free.
AnglicareSA Leaving and Post Care Services Manager, Jenna Masi, said the donation demonstrated the significant impact a bit of support could have. “The donation from Good360 has enabled the young people to stay connected with their support networks, helping to combat feelings of isolation and navigate the challenges of adulthood,” Jenna said. Mahsa, who is connected through NAYS, said her laptop sourced through The Laptop Initiative could not have come at a better time. “I am looking forward to using it to help me practice my English and stay on top of my schoolwork,” she said.

Board member hits the ground running with purpose
More than $10,000 was raised for Believe Housing Australia after board member Amanda Heyworth and her son Sam participated in the Leeds 10K in the United Kingdom in June. Amanda, a new addition to the Anglicare SA Housing Ltd Board, was among more than 6,000 participants in the annual event, which was founded by her late school friend Jane Tomlinson almost 20 years ago and has only grown in popularity since. The decision to fundraise stemmed from Amanda and Sam’s own experiences working in the housing sector. Amanda has served on boards for multiple housing providers in both the profit and not-for-profit sectors, while Sam is a civil engineer constructing new homes. “Community housing is under enormous pressure with so many people in acute need, and that is important because safe, affordable housing is the foundation of a good life,” Amanda said.
