Board meets at Warriparinga The AnglicareSA Board met in February at the Living Kaurna Cultural Centre on the culturally significant grounds of Warriparinga at Bedford Park.
Joined by the Executive Management team, the Board was led on a cultural tour by a guide from Southern Cultural Immersion, walking the sprawling gardens to learn some of its history from a Kaurna perspective. The tour took an in-depth look at the unique and ancient connection that Kaurna miyurna (people) have with Kaurna yarta (land) and the natural resources of the area that further outline the significance and importance of Warriparinga for Kaurna people.
The tour also provided insight into the connection between Warriparinga and Kaurna yarta more broadly, specifically in relation to the Tjilbruke dreaming, reinforcing the First Nations belief that all things are connected. Following the tour, the Board held its meeting at the centre.

NAIDOC Week NAIDOC Week participation kicked off a little earlier in 2024 as NAIDOC in the South was held the week before so schools and communities could celebrate together before the school holidays. AnglicareSA and Believe Housing Australia employees joined in on the vibrant community celebrations which included a march along Beach Road at Christies Beach and a Family Fun Day at Rotary Park. It was one of many events AnglicareSA employees and supporters took part in across the week, including a Welcome to Country by Jack Buckskin at our Western Hub office, followed by a morning tea filled with connection and pride, celebrating the theme Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud, and Proud.
Having fun at NAIDOC in the South
