Bridging now to next
National Reconciliation Week (NRW) (27 May to 3 June) was a time for growth, reflection, and commitment to walking together.
Reconciliation is everyone’s business, and at AnglicareSA, we acknowledge that reconciliation takes ongoing commitment, requiring each of us to recognise the truth of the past, practise continued reflection, and listen alongside First Nations people. Our commitments and actions resonate with the 2025 NRW theme, Bridging Now to Next, for we are the now and we believe the future for our next generation should have reconciliation at the centre of it. This year, we were proud to again be part of celebrations and events across our organisation, as well as supporting and participating in community events.
Tauondi Aboriginal College in Port Adelaide was once again a buzz of fun, celebration, and connection for the annual Reconciliation in the West. This is always an amazing day to celebrate First Nations cultures and learn more about the importance of reconciliation while enjoying entertainment, live music, interactive activities, stalls, and a BBQ lunch. Reconciliation in the South was postponed due to the weather. For employees who could not attend the events happening in the community, across our different offices at AnglicareSA and Believe Housing Australia, we hosted a Nunga Screen viewing showcasing First Nations stories and movies.
