AnglicareSA Annual Report 2024 - 2025

Passion for food and nutrition

Dietitian Ashley Loh works across all six of AnglicareSA’s residential aged care homes helping people achieve the best quality of life through good nutrition.

A Flinders University graduate, Ashley has worked in nutrition research in pregnancy and infants, hospital settings, and aged care. “I work with residents one-on-one and give them nutrition advice and nutrition planning,” Ashley said. “It’s very food-first focussed and individualised to the resident to help ensure they have the best quality of life.” Ashley’s love for food goes beyond her regular work hours. “On weekends, I spend my time in the garden growing fruits and vegetables – a hobby that fruited during COVID,” Ashley said. “Eggplants, strawberries, lemons, lettuce, zucchini, broccoli, beetroot, and tomatoes are some of the things I have harvested from my little backyard garden. “I am amazed what can grow with just a few simple ingredients – seeds, soil, water, and sunshine.”
