AnglicareSA Annual Report 2024 - 2025

Special visitor to the Magdalene Centre Our Emergency Assistance program at the Magdalene Centre was fortunate to host a recent visit from the Bishop of the New Guinea Islands, The Right Revd Reginald Makele.

Bishop Reg was given a tour of the Emergency Assistance and Thread Together programs by AnglicareSA employees, and a well-known face in the Anglican community, Peter Burke. Peter, now enjoying retirement after many years with AnglicareSA across a number of roles, was escorting Bishop Reg on behalf of the Anglican Board of Mission.

Bishop Reg said he found the tour fascinating and had ideas that he wished to take back to Papua New Guinea, particularly enjoying the connection between AnglicareSA and the Anglican Church in Adelaide.

Harmony Week Each year, AnglicareSA celebrates Harmony Week, which recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from different backgrounds. It is about inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone.

This year, we encouraged employees to: – reflect on their background, the traditions and cultural experiences that shaped them, and the values that were important to them and their family – connect with others to learn about their cultural backgrounds and traditions – learn more about diversity, reconciliation, racism, and gender equality, and how to develop the skills to be anti-racist.
