THE LATEST AIRCRAFT IS INTEN- DED FOR LONG-HAUL FLIGHTS operated by the Serbian national airline, while its unique appearan- ce promotes the upcoming EXPO 2027 world exposition that will take place in Belgrade between 15 th May and 15 th August 2027. "The expansion of the long- haul destination network is close- ly linked to the development of a fleet of aircraft capable of opera- ting these flights. We have opera- ted flights to North America and the People's Republic of China wi- th two Airbus A330-200 aircraft and now a new aircraft of the sa- me type has reinforced our fleet. In anticipation of the upcoming EXPO 2027 exhibition, and with a wish to contribute to the promoti- on of this event that’s important to the Republic of Serbia and the en- tire region, we have decided that

Air Serbia’s third wide-body air- craft will feature a visual identity of this specialised exhibition. We expect another such aircraft to jo- in our fleet by the end of 2024, which will be branded in the same way. From Chicago and New York in the West to Guangzhou in the East, the national airline’s aircraft will present Serbia and EXPO 2027 to a global audience,” said Air Ser- bia CEO Jiri Marek. Air Serbia’s third wide-body aircraft was manufactured in 2014 and is equipped with 22 seats in business class and 240 in economy class, Rolls-Royce engines with a thrust of 71,100 N, a 60-metre win- gspan and a length of approxima- tely 59 metres. It can fly at a maxi- mum altitude of 12,600 metres. The visual identity of EXPO 2027 was applied to the aircraft in Lisbon using 270 special decals.

The airline’s first Airbus A330- 200 aircraft, registered as YU-ARB and bearing the name and ima- ge of Nikola Tesla, joined the fleet in April 2021, while Air Serbia’s se- cond such plane, registered as YU- ARC, joined the fleet in November 2022. It is named after renowned Serbian-American scientist and in- ventor Mihajlo Pupin and features his image.
