Shanghai Museum At the centre of the city’s Pe- ople’s Square, you’ll find the Shanghai Museum, which re- presents an unmissable chan- ce to take in some Chinese history and learn about ancient Chinese art, ceramics, scul- ptures and the Ming and Qing dynasties. With pieces dating back 800 years, this museum offers deep insight into both the city and China as a whole. Qibao Eight ancient water towns surround Shanghai, creating one of the city’s top tourist attractions, especially if you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifeti- me road trip. If you don’t ha- ve time to visit them all, Qibao is the perfect place to stop. Da- ting back to the 10th century, it is renowned for its delicious street food and beautiful canal views. This small town is best enjoyed during the week, as it can be a busy tourist spot at weekends.

Disneyland Shanghai Disneyland has been welcoming Disney lovers from all over the world since 2016, but this isn’t just anot- her Disney park. Many of the rides, attractions and chara- cters have been redesigned to cater to a Chinese tourist audience. A group of Chine- se zodiac gardens make up its centre – with the 12 animals represented by Disney chara- cters. There’s also more live entertainment here than in ot- her Disney theme parks. It’s a great choice for anyone nee- ding a break from traditional sightseeing in Shanghai.
Taikang Road This narrow neighbourhood is now a shopping, dining and crafts district. Always pac- ked with visitors, Tiánzifáng is popular thanks to it being charming, relaxing and easi- ly accessible. After you buy a few souvenirs, visit one of the excellent bars or restau- rants in the area.
M50 M50, which is short for Mogan- shan 50, is an ultra-hip contem- porary art district and home to more than 120 of the city’s best art galleries, studios and museums, including ShanghArt Gallery, one of the first contem - porary art galleries established in China.
