Stiže novi Gladijator / New Gladiator arriving Jedno od najiščekivanijih ostvarenja ove godine, „Gladijator 2“ naći će se u bioskopima od 22. novembra. Sme- šten dve dekade nakon događaja iz kultnog filma sa Raselom Krouom, film prati život Lucijusa, unuka Marka Au- relija, koji sa ženom živi u rimskoj pro- vinciji Numidiji na severu Afrike. Rimski vojnici ubijaju njegovu ženu, nakon če- ga ga i porobljuju. Inspirisan pričom iz prvog fima, Lucijus odlučuje da se bo- ri kao gladijator u pokušaju da skine sa trona cara Karakulu.
Reditelj filma Ridli Skot uvek je imao afinitet prema istorijskim spektakli- ma, a kaže da je ovo njegov najbolji i najveći film. „Ne planiram da se povu- čem, radiću svaj posao dok god mogu, i srećan sam što mi je život omogućio da snimim ovaj film na koji sam čekao prethodnih dvadesetak godina“, izja- vio je Skot. Sa grandioznim budžetom, „Gladijator 2“ je postao tek petnae- sti film u čiji budžet je investirano preko 300 miliona dolara. Glavne uloge tumače dvadesetosmo- godišnji Pol Meskal, Pedro Paskal, Den- zel Vošington i Koni Nilsen, koja je tu- mačila suprugu Maksimusa Decimusa (Rasela Kroua) u prvom filmu.
One of the most highly anticipated releases of the year, Gladiator II, hits cinemas on 22 nd No- vember. Set two decades after the events of the iconic film that starred Russell Crowe, this film follows the life of Lucius, the grandson of Marcus Aurelius, who lives with his wife in Rome’s North African province of Numidia. Roman soldiers kill his wife, after which he is forced into slavery. In- spired by the story of the first film, Lucius decides to become a gladiator in an attempt to dethrone Emperor Caracalla. Director Ridley Scott, who has always had an af-
finity for historical spectacles, considers this to be his best and biggest film. “I don’t plan to with- draw and will do my work for as long as I can, and I’m happy that life has enabled me to shoot this film that I’ve been waiting to make for the past 20 years,” said Scott. With its huge budget, Gladiator II has become only the 15th film to ever have a budget exceeding 300 million dollars. The lead roles are played by 28-year-old Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington and Connie Nielsen, who also portrayed Emperor Marcus Aurelius’s daughter Lucilla in the first film.

Slobodna zona u gradovima Srbije Free Zone in Serbian cities
Jubilarno, 20. izdanje Slobodne zone biće održano od 6. do 11. novembra u Beogradu, Novom Sadu, Nišu i Kragujevcu. Pu- blika će moći da pogleda preko 65 igranih i dokumentarnih angažovanih filmova, a na programu će, između ostalih, biti prikazana i sveže ovenčana ostvarenja sa uglednih filmskih fe- stivala: „Još sam tu” Valtera Salesa, nagrađen za najbolji sce- nario u Veneciji, „Čovjek koji nije mogao šutjeti” Nebojše Sli- jepčevića, osvajač Zlatne palme za kratki film u Kanu, „Moj omiljeni kolač” Marjam Mogadam i Bentaša Sanaihe, dobitnik Nagrade ekumenskog žirija i Nagrade FIPRESCI u Berlinu, kao i „Tri kilometra do kraja sveta” Emanuela Parvua, pobednik Film- skog festivala u Sarajevu i „Naša djeca” Silvestra Kolbasa, naj- boljeg reditelja Pulskog festivala.
The jubilee 20 th edition of the Free Zone Film Festival will unfold in Bel- grade, Novi Sad, Niš and Kragujevac from 6 th to 11 th November. Audi- ences will be able to watch more than 65 feature films and documen- taries, with the programme set to include freshly crowned works from prestigious film festivals: the Walter Salles directed I’m Still Here, win- ner of the Best Screenplay Award in Venice; Nebojša Slijepčević’s The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent, winner of the Cannes Palme d’Or for Short Film; My Favourite Cake, jointly directed by Maryam Mogad- am and Behtash Sanaeeha and winner of the Berlinale’s Ecumenical Jury Prize and FIPRESCI Prize; Emanuel Parvu’s Three Kilometres to the End of the World, winner of the Sarajevo Film Festival’s Award for Best Feature Film; and Silvestar Kolbas’s Our Children, winner of the Pula Film Festival’s Golden Arena Award for Best Directing.
