Moral Injury Awareness Day Mayor Mattie Parker presented a proclamation to the American Warrior Association (AWA) to mark June 11 as Moral Injury Awareness Day. Moral injury is the damage done to one ’ s conscience or moral compass when a person perpetrates, witnesses, or fails to prevent acts that transgress one ’ s own moral beliefs, values, or ethical codes of conduct.
Congratulations to the May 6 inaugural graduates of the newly created Criminal Justice In School Program. The program graduates attend Eastern Hills and South Hills High Schools. The program met twice weekly during the school year to learn the fundamentals of law enforcement and to foster trust within the FWPD community. Criminal Justice Program Graduation

On June 28, FWPD hosted a graduation ceremony for Recruit Class 157. The class added 32 new officers to the force. Welcome to the Department! FWPD Recruit Class 157 Graduation A graduation ceremony was held for Class 62 of the Citizens Police Academy on May 22. The Citizens Police Academy is a twelve - week course that allows members of the public an opportunity to gain insight into FWPD and learn how various teams operate. Congratulations to the graduates! Citizens Police Academy Graduation detection program for detecting radiological materials that have fallen out of regulatory control to prevent terrorist attacks. The shared knowledge globally is common practice and the KPNA have sought to learn from a US police department.
