“From the beginning, I wanted the Lady in Red to feel di erent from in fundraising galas,” said Mrs. Pope. “Rather than a formal program lled with speeches, I envisioned a glamorous, joyful party with extraordinary entertainment—where people want to dress up, celebrate, and give generously. at vision has worked beautifully. We’ve raised many millions of dollars and helped hundreds of thousands of underserved people, all while having a wonderful time.” While the evening sparkled with fun and frivolity, its mission remained front and center.
