I am so glad that pollen season is over.
a lifelong Mississippi State Bulldog. But It really doesn’t hurt too terribly bad. It pains me a little to say that but it is really OK. I may even go to a game or two in Tuscaloosa. Just to visit of course. Brinkley just had her dance recital. It was so good. Foster is really good friendswith a lot of the girls at Studio 413 so I have gotten to know them as well. So I am a little more invested in the entire recital than just watching Brinkley. I tell you what, that little girl can Hip Hop. Looking at her, you wouldn’t think she could move like she does. But when the music comes on, she is a beast. Foster is wide open with Baseball. We have several trips this summer with his travel team. Hopefully by the time you read this, his middle school teamwill have won the state title. I guess youwill find out next month. Thismonthwe are doing some posture awareness. I hope you have been checking your email and getting our tips. My wife needs to be on my email list. Her posture is horrible. But I can’t say anything to her because she is my wife. :) Good Luck Stone. Wewill miss you my son! Jeremy
For now, he isn’t going to try to play in College. He just wants to be a student. I know that he loved the game and gave 7 years to it and I really enjoyed watching him play. 2 down, 2 to go. Sophie is in Atlanta and Stone is moving out. Hope and I will not know what to do with all of the free time that we are going to have. I am not quite ready to be an empty nester. I really enjoy practices, ball games, dance recitals, competitions. I still have 5 years though.
Not that I have allergies, but everyone inmy family is pitiful. Eyes all swollen and leaking, red faced, and constantly making that sniffing noise. One time I was blowing off the driveway and my son, Stone, was at the bottomof it. I didn’t see him and turned towards him. A cloud of pollen as big as I imagine a smallmushroom cloud hit him square in the face. Little man almost had an anaphylaxis reaction to this enormous amount of pollen. He immediately couldn’t see, couldn’t breathe and daddy was scared. We all learned a valuable lesson that day. Stone stays indoorswhen I am blowing off the driveway or the back patio. But I don't have to worry about that anymore since he graduated and is going to Alabama.
Yes, I did say that Stone was going toBama. I really thought that it would bother me, being
I watched his last lacrosse game a couple of weeks ago.

Physical therapy treatments are catered toward your needs and goals! Physical therapy is generally comprised of three important phases: pain relief, strengthening, and functional integration. Some people are apprehensive about physical therapy because they believe it will hurt them; however, the opposite is usually true. Physical therapy is aimed at pain relief and strengthening. This is achieved through several treatment services, such as ice and heat therapies, stretching, bracing, and ultrasound. An active lifestyle is also dependent upon movement. Our physical therapists will cater your treatment plan around specific movements designed to increase your strength, flexibility, balance, and overall mobility. Your physical therapist will assist you with many of these exercises, but will also provide some simple ones that can be done at home.
The end goal of physical therapy is living the life you want, free from painful limitations. That can only happen when you apply the concepts you learn from your treatments to the outside world. Our physical therapists are as dedicated as you are, andwill encourage you to achieve all the goals you set forth in the beginning. Aspire toward a happier and healthier life today: Maintaining a healthy lifestyle takes work, but once you get into the groove of it, it becomes much easier. For example, eating nutritious foods is one of the easiest ways to improve your health (although we know those sweets are hard to kick.) Physical activity is the hardest aspect to get in the habit of doing, especially if you are being held back by chronic pain. Some people try to mask their symptoms with anti-inflammatory or pain-relieving medications, while others unfortunately give up on the idea of being

PATIENT SPOTLIGHT "Pittman Physical Therapy has been there since the beginning of my injury adventures. Recently, I attended a basketball camp with my team at Briarcrest and dislocated my knee. Previously, Pittman had helped me recover from a foot surgery, so of course I went straight to them to help me with my knee recovery. I tried not to have surgery, but if I wanted to play Basketball my sophomore season, Dr. Biggers and my PT said I would have to have surgery. I was told that I would have a 6 month recovery, but with the help of my physical therapists and the hard work I put in, I fully recovered in 4 1/2 months. I worked with Mallory, Jeff, Tessa, Maranda, and a few other people in the practice. I will forever be thankful for the hard work they put into helping me play the sport I love most." GET READY TO GARDEN!
It’s about time to get outside and get the garden going! Being able to tend a garden is one of the joys of the summer, but sometimes an aching body can get in the way.
• If kneeling on both knees causes discomfort in your back, try kneeling on one knee and keep the other foot on the ground . Use knee pads or a gardening pad when kneeling. • If kneeling or leaning down to the ground causes significant pain in your back or knees, consider using elevated planters to do your gardening . • Avoid bending your wrist upwards when pulling things or using gardening tools. Instead, keep your wrist straight and use your shoulder muscles to pull and lift. • End your gardening session with some gentle backward bending of your low back, a short walk and light stretching, similar to stretches done before starting. Your physical therapist at Pittman PT is here for you, to help you get ready to jump into your favorite summertime activities without the worry of pain. Call us today to schedule your return appointment to our clinic! 901-850-5246
Common gardening activities, such as digging, planting, weeding, mulching, and raking can cause stress and strain on muscles and joints. This is especially true for senior citizens and people who are normally sedentary. Different body areas such as the shoulders, neck, back, and knees can be vulnerable to injury during gardening. These tips can help prevent injuries: • Warm up before you garden. A 10 minute brisk walk and stretches for the spine and limbs are good ways to warm up. • Change positions frequently to avoid stiffness or cramping. • Make use of a garden cart or wheelbarrow tomove heavy planting materials or tools. Be sure to keep your back straight while using a wheelbarrow.
"I started with Pittman with pain on the left side of my neck. It was painful and tight and limited my movement. My range of motion is back to normal and the tightness and pain are gone. Brad was excellent and I am pleased with the overall experience. Please, try it, stay with it and do the work. It pays off." -John John Pappas

Start by sitting in a chair with good posture. Rest the edge of your heel on the floor as shown. Then, slowly trace a clockwise circle with your big toe and return to start position. Repeat, this time tracing a counter- clockwise circle. Continue for 10-15 repetitions per circle direction per ankle.
Start by standing with feet shoulder-width-apart. Next, take a step forward and allow your front knee to bend. Your back knee may bend as well. Then, return to original position, or you may
walk and take a step forward and repeat with the other leg. Keep your pelvis level and straight the entire time. Your front knee should bend in line with the 2nd toe and not pass the front of the foot.
Not all exercises are appropriate for every person. Please consult with a healthcare provider before starting.
