Texas hosts more species of birds than any other state in the U.S. and Brazoria County has a larger variety of bird species than any other area in North America. Join the other 85 million Americans who have discovered the joys of birding by signing up for our Beginning Birding class. In this class, you’ll learn how to select the best binoculars and field guides for you and how to identify numerous birds using field marks, bird songs and behavior. Our instructor will also help you find other ways to become involved in the birding community. The class will go on several field trips in the Pearland area so you can practice your newly learned skills.

Adult flag football leagues are open to adults 18 & older and are offered at the Sports Complex at Shadow Creek Ranch. The registration fee pays for a 7 - games regular season schedule, single elimination playoffs, officials, and award. Game schedules can be obtained from our website at teamsideline.com/pearland . Registration may be done in person at the Recreation Center & Natatorium or online at pearlandparks.com . ADULT SOFTBALL LEAGUES Registration Dates: Aug. 8 - Sept. 6 Cost: $315 (includes a $80 forfeit deposit) + $20 cash at the plate for umpires Location: SCR Format: 14 regular season games + single–elimination seeded playoffs Play begins: Sept. 20 Our Adult Softball leagues are open to men and women, 18 & older, and are offered at Shadow Creek Ranch Sports Complex - softball fields on Shadow Creek Ranch Parkway. The program registration fee pays for 14 - regular season schedule (7 – week of double headers) plus a single- elimination playoff for the top 4 teams in each division, and awards for 1st and 2nd place. Game schedules, scores, league standings and new rosters can be obtained from our website at teamsideline.com/pearland . Registration may be done in person at the Recreation Center & Natatorium or online at pearlandparks.com . Teams must pay in full to register. All registration is done on a “first come, first serve” basis. Current email and secondary phone numbers are required at registration. Intermediate Birding is the perfect way to advance your birding skills. It is designed for those who have previously taken the Beginning Birding class or already have some birding experience and are ready to expand their birding knowledge. If you are ready to spread your wings and expand your horizons, then this class is for you. We will take field trips to several neighboring cities to visit some of the great out-of-town birding hotspots. Park fees are not included in the class fees.

EXPLORE ARCHERY Cost: $75 Age: 13+ years Location: Stella Roberts Recycling Center Explore Archery is fun and a perfect fit for archers of any age or ability wanting to get involved in the sport of target archery. If you are new to the sport of archery or a beginner archer looking for an introductory program to sign up for, Explore Archery has what you need to get started! You’ll learn important skills like range safety, proper shooting form, and play exciting archery games.
