Summary of findings: Care in a nursing home in the last three months of life
 A total of 1,671 participants said that their relative or friend had stayed in a nursing home or residential care facility during the last three months of their life.  The highest-scoring question related to participants feeling welcome to visit their relative or friend in the nursing home, with 84.8% of people (n=1,337) saying that they always felt welcome to visit at any time.  The lowest-scoring question related to activity support, with 10.4% of participants (n=147) saying that healthcare sta did not support their relative or friend to do things they wanted to do (for example, participate in special family events, see a pet etc.) during their stay in the nursing home or residential care facility.  In total, 85.4% of participants rated the overall care their relative or friend received from healthcare sta in a nursing home or residential care facility in the last three months of their life as ‘good’ or ‘very good’.
