In total, 496 people were cared for in a hospice during the last two days of their life, while 487 people died in a hospice. This section presents ȴndings broken down both by where care was received in the last two days of life, and also by where people died. During the last two days of their relative or friend’s life, 390 participants said that they were oered a family room with adequate privacy to meet with healthcare sta, while 302 said that they were oered a family room with tea and coee making facilities. 380 bereaved relatives said that they were oered the option to stay overnight, while 402 said that they were oered the option to visit at any time, including outside of regular visiting hours. Finally, seven participants said that they were not oered any of these facilities (Figure 4.8). 42
