Practicing Gratitude: Live a Healthy and Connected Life
Gratitude Tree This arts and crafts activity is perfect for families with young kids or anyone who enjoys creating visual art. You need colored paper, string or ribbons, scissors, twigs or tree branches, a vase, and marbles or small stones. Using the colored paper, make leaf cutouts with a hole in them for you and your little ones to write or draw things you are grateful for. Pour the marbles or stones into the vase and place the twigs and branches inside. Once you have made many gratitude leaves, use the string or ribbon to attach the leaves to the sticks. Gratitude Box This exercise is a beautiful way to practice gratitude with loved ones of all ages. For this exercise, you will need a large box to hold plenty of little notes to and from other people. You can buy a pre-decorated box or a plain one and decorate it yourself, then put a small notepad next to the box. Then, when

According to an article from Harvard Health Publishing, “Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships.” To get you started practicing gratitude, here are a couple of exercises you can do by yourself or with family and friends. Journaling This is an excellent exercise for individual reflection that can be done daily, weekly, or whenever you feel inspired. Journaling about the things and people you are grateful for allows you to shift your focus and catalog the good parts of your life. It also serves as a written record for you to revisit when you want to remind yourself that life is full of joy and goodness.
