PCAM Success! This year, ZERO’s PCAM goal was to spread the critical message that early detection saves lives. Thanks to your support, we have reached this goal! During September, more than 550 individuals took the “Am I At Risk” quiz, which is a vital resource for assessing prostate cancer risk factors. Our new website launched, providing patients and families with more educational materials, support resources, and information on free, nationwide screening events during PCAM. ZERO’s PCAM social media campaign greatly expanded its reach compared to last year. Our traditional posts on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn saw increased engagement, while our video posts on Facebook and Instagram saw over 3000% growth in views. To round out all of these exciting wins, ZERO Prostate Cancer Day raised $44,000 which was triple-matched, totaling $132,000 raised! Thank you for all of your support and involvement with this year’s PCAM. We are looking forward to another successful PCAM in 2024!

Celebrate National Caregivers Month This November Caregivers make up more than 40 million people in the United States who provide unpaid care to a friend or loved one, with nearly 75% of caregivers being women. We know that stepping into a caregiver role can be an overwhelming and uncertain time. We want our caregivers to know that they are not alone and we are here to support them. ZERO provides various resources for caregivers including educational videos for guidance, caregiver Support Groups, and a Caregiver’s Guide.

Our goal for next year’s National Caregivers Month is to hold an event that celebrates and offers support to our caregiver community. We hope to provide resources, education, and networking opportunities to our caregivers. However, this event can not take place without sponsor support. If you are interested in learning more about this event and how you can support it, please contact Jess at jessica@zerocancer.org.

Support our Veterans! As we celebrate Veteran’s Day on November 11th, it is important to remember the impact prostate cancer has on our Veteran community. Veterans are a high-risk population for prostate cancer with an incidence rate twice that of the general population. ZERO is leading efforts to ensure the Veteran community has access to the vital resources, tools, education, and support needed to fight and prevent prostate cancer. ZERO’s Veterans Initiative is dedicated to embracing and addressing the critical needs of Veterans. To honor and support Veterans year-round, please consider supporting our Veterans Initiative in 2024. If you have questions or are interested in supporting this initiative, please contact Jess at jessica@zerocancer.org.
