Street Rod Parade H ow would you like to take a tour through downtown York in your street rod guided by the York police department? You can on Friday morning of the Street Rod Nationals East. All you must do is line up just outside of Memorial Hall. Participants start lining up early in the morning to leave at noon sharp. If you have room in your vehicle to carry a dignitary or two you get to go to the head of the line to lead the parade. Remember, it is limited to the first 125 vehicles so get there early then go walk around. Every participant of the parade receives a dash plaque, and the Explore York Convention Bureau will pick five cars out of the parade for an award to be given out on Sunday. Friday Ladies Tea Host Patti Knaack would like to welcome all lady participants to the Street Rod Nationals East Ladies Tea. The Ladies Tea is free to all lady participants, so please wear your event button to attend. This year’s theme will be “Lucky Lady Casino Royale,” no money is needed. If you happen to do the Parade, you’ll be back in plenty of time to make the Ladies Tea. The Tea starts at 1:30pm and ends at 3:30pm and takes place in Old Main. Check the Event Guide for the exact location. The Ladies Tea is put together by the hosts and their helpers, plus some great sponsors like “Texas Roadhouse” and “Sanderson Headers.” If you or your club would like to donate some door prizes, please contact Patti at 410-935-8651. Please come and enjoy all the snacks, drinks, and door prizes with lots of surprises to come! Free Friday Night BBQ “Explore York” will once again offer a BBQ dinner at the Street Rod Nationals East on Friday night for the first 400 participants. This will mark their fifth year hosting the dinner. Doors will open at 5pm and serve till they reach 400 participants. The dinner will be in the Verandah Room. You must have your event button with you!
