bumper fit was perfected (including pounding out fac- tory stamping flaws), the trim was restored, and the panel fit is immaculate. There are some changes, the mirrors are swan mirrors, the rear fenders use chrome welting, and the center hood trim is painted. The clean stocker was a dark green before it was stripped and after the gentlemen at Page Customs straightened everything they laid down custom Dark Emerald Pearl PPG hues. They filled the interior with a tilt column topped with a Con2R steering wheel, slipped Classic Instruments in the stock dash panel, and added a dash extension. The Bluetooth radio and HVAC controls were made to work inside the stock items. The stock seats and everything else were covered in dark tan and

cream leather by the fine folks at Paul’s Custom Interiors and Jack was ready to hit the open road for the summer of 2025 and beyond. The mild custom almost disappeared from events for a while when everyone was trying to out do each other, but luckily the next generation came along and since they couldn’t afford early rods, they slammed ‘50s stockers, decided patina was paint, and called it a cus- tom. It was a great reminder of how bitchin’ early cars look slammed to the ground with minimal mods and the result has been that the 21st Century brings a plethora of mild customs and rods. I love Jack’s dream custom, but more importantly, Jack loves the feeling from behind the wheel and that’s what counts!
