WHAT ARE GROWTH FACTORS?
Growth Factors or rh-Oligopeptide-1 contains 53 chains of amino acids, which are the building blocks of proteins. Collagen and elastin fibers are made up of proteins. Growth Factors work by directly stimulating the proliferation of specific cells that contain receptor sites that recognize the growth factor. The binding of the two initiates a cascade of events that result in cellular division. EGFs have also demonstrated their ability to reduce inflammation as part of the wound- healing response.

Growth Factors have been studied for decades and it was discovered that this protein helps stimulate blood vessel synthesis around the damaged tissue. This in turn delivers vital nutrients to the wound and begins cellular proliferation, which synthesizes collagen and elastin, as well as hyaluronic acid. It is through this that we see healing in the wounded tissue.
