you mean the ark. The altar was in the outer court. These furnishings were taken to Babylon in 586 B.C. We find the beautiful goblets were desecrated by Belshazzar in his wick ed orgies. Perhaps the rest were de stroyed in time of war. There is no indication as to what happened to the ark. Q. San Diego, Calif. — “In II Corin thians 12:1-4. is Paul talking about himself being caught up to the third Heaven? I f so, and the third Heaven is the place of God, then wouldn’t Paul have seen God before his death ?” A. There is nothing to parallel this wonderful portion of Scripture. We do believe that Paul had reference to himself in these words. The Apostle was really the spiritual “father” of the church at Corinth. He hadn’t been away from it very long before there were those who sought to bring in false messages, diluting the truth. Here were these who openly bragged about their credentials. They could not begin to compare with Paul in this realm. He gives them just a hint about what he could easily boast, should he have so desired to do so. This was such a transcendent experi ence that Paul did not even know

in a conspiracy as they are subject ing the saints of God and reinstitut ing idolatry. Because of their pres sures, unless one wants to perish, he will have to follow their wicked in structions. The number is like a password. The church at this point, however, has already been raptured. Six, of course, is the number of a man. How interesting that it falls short of the number of complete ness, seven. This is a word of warn ing and foreshadowing. It will alert those in that coming day so that they will know the beast when he starts his awful, devilish operation. They can be assured that for all his power, he is only 666 — a man, not God! Q. Phoenix, Ariz. — “ Are the 144,000, as mentioned in Revelation 7:4-5, the tribulation evangelists ?” A. Yes, we believe that they are. This is during the seven years (and especially the last three-and-a-half years of that seven-year period). They are, as we read, Jews of the tribes of Israel. They will be divine ly protected by the Lord, until their ministry has been completed. Then they are slain as martyrs for the Lord’s sake. Q. Seekonk, Mass. — “While it may be an old question, I ’ve never heard the answer to where Cain’s wife came from?” A. Cain’s wife was apparently one of his sisters or nieces. Adam and Eve had numerous children beside Cain and Abel. While it is now il legal to marry one’s close relative, in those days, when the line was very pure, there was not the same problem. Q. Portland, Ore. — . “ What became of the sacred furnishings of Solomon’s temple, especially the altar which was in the Holy of Holies?” A. There was no altar there; perhaps

Above is the Biola College Gymnasium which was completed in mid-'66. Across the way, be yond the street, one observes a white sign which is the announcement of a new La Mirada Civic Center. This is to be constructed In the near future.
