The Quality & Safety Committee is chaired by an Independent Non-Executive Director. Its purpose is to review the quality and safety of all new and existing clinical services to provide assurances to the Board on all aspects of quality, safety, and the experiences of patients, service users, and staff. The Committee review all significant events and incidents, as well as complaints and compliments. The CQC Registered Manager and Nominated Individual are members of the committee to oversee that NNPC meets statutory and regulatory standards. The Quality and Safety risks as well as information data risks are reported through this Committee and it reviews the Data Protection and Security Toolkit annually. Our vision and ethos in relation to clinical quality, continual assessment of patient safety, and experiences of patients, service users, and staff in the clinical services we deliver is that: We will: • Work in partnership with patients towards a positive experience and understanding by reviewing and responding to feedback about the services that we offer and seek external evaluation, where appropriate • Embed continual quality improvement in our clinical services via service evaluations and auditing • Drive the learning agenda to continually improve what we can offer to our patients • Ensure we deliver our services which treat patients as individuals and with the same respect we would want for ourselves or a member of our family, listening and supporting people to express their needs and wants. This action takes people with protected quality characteristics and health inequalities into consideration • Ensure that all staff have the competency and motivation to deliver the required standards of care by making sure that all members of the team have the right skills and training to carry out their duties competently • Operate with a wide range of policies and processes which ensure the ongoing safety of patients, as well as delivering an effective, responsive service • Implement policies and oversight to ensure we operate safe, high quality services which provides good value to our stakeholders and system • Improve our services through feedback from patients and staff • Ensure confidentiality and data protection for each patient and staff member • Ensure the organisation offers a range of high quality, safe services that improve patient experience of accessing healthcare services • Have a clear, well-structured governance framework which approaches complaints and significant events in a positive manner which adopts a focus on learning and change, where required • Work with partnered organisations to ensure joined up continuity with high-quality patient care being the focus • Safeguard our patients, service users, and staff from harm by providing information on how to access support and refer where appropriate
