3.2 Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) This annual statement is generated each year in March, in accordance with the requirements of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 Code of Practice on the prevention and control of infections and related guidance.

The report is published on the practice website and will include the following summary:

• Any infection transmission incidents and any action taken (these will have been reported in accordance with our complaints, significant event, accident and incident reporting procedures), where required • Details of any infection control audits undertaken and actions undertaken • Details of any risk assessments undertaken for the prevention and control of infection • Details of staff training • Any review and update of policies, procedures and guidelines In the past year (1 st April 2023 – 31 st March 2024), there has not been any incidents raised that related to infection prevention and control. There has been 1 complaint directly referring cleanliness within the clinical area of one of the many the services we deliver. The complaint was passed on to the organisation which were responsible for the cleaning and infection control of the general and clinical environment, and they responded to the complaint directly to the complainant to ensure that any lessons to be learned were implemented in order to prevent a reoccurrence of the complaint. NNPC was last inspected by Care Quality Commission (CQC) in July 2021, and no issues were raised in relation to the organisational management of IPAC. Audits relating to Infection Control within hub premises have been undertaken within the organisation during the periods of 1 st April 2023 – 31 st March 2024, and daily IPAC checklists are complete in each of the clinical areas which NNPC are commissioned to carry out. Action plans were produced and completed in response to the findings, where required. In addition, IPAC audits are logged on the audit schedules, and actioned plans are developed where required. Risk assessments are carried out so that any risk is minimised to be as low as reasonably practicable. Additionally, a risk assessment that can identify best practice can be established and then followed. Over the course of the last year, the risk assessments were carried out/reviewed in the main office building, and in / on behalf of host Practices (where required). These consisted of : • General IP&C risks related to cleaning, PPE use, and hand hygiene audits • Staffing, new joiners (as part of recruitment and induction) and ongoing training • Cleaning standards, at the main office and in hubs where clinical services are being delivered

• Staff vaccinations • Pregnant workers
