Non-Clinical Staff Survey

The survey was sent to 80 members of staff who all have non- clinical roles within our organisation. We received 44 replies which represents a 55% response rate, so we recognise that the results do not represent everyone’s views. We asked for responses in 6 main areas;

• Their job, • Their team and the people in our organisation, • Their managers, • Their health, well-being and safety at work, • Their personal development and • The organisation.

We also asked them to describe the culture of our organisation using 3 words and asked if there was one thing which they could change about the organisation and what that might be. Finally, we gave them the opportunity to say anything else about working at NPC. Highlights of the Results The majority of the staff strongly agreed or agreed that they look forward to coming to work, enjoy their work, and felt that time passes quickly whilst working. 79% of them felt that their role is valued, and 84% of them felt supported in their role. 77% of them felt that they could make improvements happen. 61% of them were satisfied with their pay and 25% of them answered neutrally (neither agree or disagree). 65% of the staff felt that the teams meet to discuss effectiveness and solve issues regularly but 22% disagreed or strongly disagreed with this. We are aware that many of our services do have regular meetings and would encourage those staff who think this area could be improved in any way to raise this with their line manager or the speak up guardian. 93% of them felt that their manager is supportive and 88% felt that their manager responds quickly to concerns, enquiries, or issues. 75% of the staff agreed or strongly agreed that disagreements within the team are dealt with constructively. 79% of the staff were happy with the quality of feedback they receive from their manager and 75% were happy with the frequency of that feedback. This was noted as an impressive increase from last year, where less than a third of the staff felt they were happy with frequency of feedback received.
