Dr. Walker joins Scheurer Primary Care - Caseville in Mid-August 2024, just in time for all of the craziness of the Cheeseburger in Caseville Festival. Originally from a small town in Michigan- St Charles, Dr. Walker enjoys rural medicine the most and fell in love with Scheurer Health during her student rotations in the Thumb. She is looking forward to working with Scott Reiter, DO and Paul Penfold, PA in the newly renovated and expanded clinic in Caseville, which will also be home to Scheurer Family Pharmacy once construction is complete.

becomes manageable. I’ve grown so much in confidence and knowledge, and I’m ready to bring that to my new patients." The challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic shaped Dr. Walker’s residency experience but also strengthened her purpose. “The end of my third year of medical school into my fourth year of medical school was the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. I was actually with Dr. Ross Ramsey when we were pulled out of the clinic because of COVID-19.” “It was interesting. There was a lot of uncertainty at the time, kind of what the future was going to hold, what family practice physicians were going to do, how medical students were going to survive throughout that pandemic time.” “I feel like how we approached education changed. One of my first rotations back from COVID-19 was again with Dr. Ramsey and it was interesting to see how much things had
changed. We went from going in and out of rooms, washing our hands, doing our daily tasks to here’s a mask and a gown and wipe every surface possible down. We would have to be cautious of every single cold, cough, flinch or sneeze.” “I ended up graduating from medical school in the parking lot of the Breslin Center at Michigan State University because of the indoor guidelines. I graduated in the parking lot with my mom and dad sitting masked behind us in chairs and then I jumped right into residency.” Dr. Walker is excited to begin her practice at Scheurer Primary Care - Caseville and is looking forward to providing quality healthcare to the residents of Caseville and the surrounding communities. "It's super exciting knowing that I'll be supported and able to grow as a physician and just as a person in general makes me really happy to be coming out here," she said.
