For nature lovers, the tour of the Sperlonga path could not be missed, considered among the most beautiful in the Vicano area in the hilly "band" area. It takes its name from the word “Spelonca”, which means cave/cavity. From a historical point of view, the route has origins and a millenary value, because it is part of the famous Via Minerva, a pre-Roman road that led to the temple of Athena/Minerva, on the extreme tip of the Sorrento Peninsula (today Punta Campanella). Due to the southern exposure, along the route you will come across terraced olive groves and vineyards that date back to the times when the Crapolla abbey grange once stood on the Avigliano plain (the highest point of the excursion). WALK TO THE SPERLONGA PATH This tour is designed for art lovers, for those who are ready to be moved by the pure beauty of the frescoes of the Giotto school, kept in a small and suggestive treasure chest: the church of Santa Lucia in the village of Massaquano. The walk continues up to Trina del Monte, to enjoy the charm of uncontaminated places with their pleasant beauty. MASSAQUANO AND TRINA AL MONTE
The tour will start from the jewel that is the Sanctuary of Santa Maria delle Grazie, to continue along the road that descends towards Marina d'Aequa, up to the ruins of the Roman villa of Pezzolo. From there you can admire the Saracen tower of Caporivo, up to the square with the church of Sant'An- tonio and discover the history of the ancient limestone. 13 PORTE SAN SALVATORE FAITO THE VILLAGE OF SAN SALVATORE AND ITS OLIVE GROVES The lesser viability is the concept expressed for this trek, which leads us to explore the ways used in the past to connect the hilly area with the city center. Paths used above all for com- merce, in which unpublished panora- mas alternate. 13 PORTE MASSAQUANO VICO A trek that talks about the olive growing of the Vico Equense area, structured in charming terraces in the hamlet of San Salvatore.
