jump through a stone wall, I ’m going to jump through it. Going through it is up to God. Jumping at it is what He expects of me.’ ” Samuel in the long ago pointed out to Saul, “To obey is better than sacrifice.” We need to give our all to Christ as we follow the paths of righteousness. FALLACY OF EVOLUTION Dr. A. C. Morrison, former president of the New York Academy of Sciences, has shown clearly how one can demon strate mathematically that the universe didn’t just happen or evolve. It shows such definite design and purpose as to demand a mastermind to account for its many perfections. Here are some pertinent examples. “The earth rotates on its axis at 1000 miles per hour. I f it rotated at only 100 miles per hour, our days and nights would be ten times as long as they are now, and the earth would alternately burn and freeze. Un der such circumstances the vegetation couldn’t possibly live. Again, the sun has a surface of 12,000 degrees. Our earth is at the exact distance necessary to give just enough heat and yet not too much. This globe is tilted at an an gle of 23 degrees, enabling us to have four seasons. I f it were not slanted at this very angle, vapors from the ocean would move north and south, piling up huge continents of ice. I f the moon were not at the EXACT distance it is from the earth, the ocean tides would inundate the land completely, twice every day. I f the ocean were just a few feet deeper than it is, carbon dioxide and oxygen in the earth’s atmosphere would be completely absorbed, and no vegetable life could possibly exist. I f the earth’s atmosphere were just a lit tle thinner, many of the meteorites which are now burned up out in space would bombard us constantly, setting great fires and endangering life every where. Yes, there IS a design in crea tion.” These interesting words are those of Dr. A. C. Morrison, former president of the New York Academy of Sciences. The Bible reminds us in this positive assertion, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” This great handiwork of the Almighty is that of the One who so loved you that He sent His only begotten Son,
Aren’t you thankful we don’t need to depend on the arm of flesh but rather can look to the Lord for our strength? In “Living Letters” this portion of Ephesians 6:10-17 states, “Last of all I want to say this: your strength must come from the LortTs mighty power unthin you. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand safe against the wiles of Satan. For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against persons without bodies . . . the evil kings of the unseen world, those mighty satanic beings and great evil princes of dark ness who. rule this world: and against huge numbers of wicked spirits in the spirit world. So use every piece of God’s armor to resist the enemy when ever he attacks, and when it is all over, you will still be standing up. But to do this, you need the strong belt of truth and the breastplate of God’s ap proval. Wear shoes that are able to speed you on as you preach the good news of peace with God. In every batr tie you’ll need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan, and you’ll need the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit . . . which is the Word of God.” OBEDIENCE IS BEST Radio’s a wonderful means of adver tising. I t ’8 a privilege for us to pur chase time on these stations in order to send out the Gospel message. A neighborhood shop owner decided to ad vertise for a boy to assist in the store and to run errands. Not long after the morning papers were circulated, he was literally mobbed with all kinds of boys seeking emloyment. Not knowing which one to choose, he sent them all away and planned another ad which he hoped would be even more selective. His ap peal read, “Wanted: to assist in a shop, a boy who obeys his mother.” This time only two ventured to come for inter views. How aptly this illustrates the fact that obedience is something all of us need to learn! This means not only obedience to human parents, but also to the Lord Jesus Christ, following His every command. A godly minister testi fied, “Whatever the good Lord tells me to do in this blessed Book, THAT I’m going to do. I f I see in it that I must
