Slinger Signaller Standard / V4 2023-05-02

The instructor shall: Explain the importance of ensuring that the correct lifting angles are being used throughout the slinger signaller tasks Lead a discussion on hazards and risk in relation to lifting angles Demonstrate correct use of lifting angles by lifting a simple load at various degrees Provide feedback to participants on their ability to measure angles during the practice activities

The participants shall: Engage in discussion on lift angles and share experiences Practise measuring lift angles by different examples (practised during all exercises) Receive feedback constructively ELEMENT 3.12 - CENTRE OF GRAVITY (COG)

Learning objective: 45) The participants can take responsibly on their own initiative for adjusting loads in relation to CoG (Ability, intermediate level)

The instructor shall: Explain the principle of centre of gravity Describe the importance of verifying the centre of gravity before commencing the lift Demonstrate how to identify the centre of gravity Ask participants for their reflections on the principle of centre of gravity in relation to suspended loads The participants shall: Explain and practise the principle of centre of gravity in relation to suspended loads Explain and practise how the centre of gravity affects the slinging of a load
