ELEMENT 3.18 - SLINGING TECHNIQUES
Learning objective: 54) The participants can take responsibility for applying different slinging techniques relevant to different types of loads (Ability, intermediate level)
The instructor shall: Recap the hazards and risks when slinging (slips, trips, falls and pinch point) and involve participants by prompting them to share knowledge and experiences on hazards and risks when slinging Explain and demonstrate the importance of using the proper slinging techniques to ensure continued safe sling capacity Demonstrate how to match slings and hook e.g. ramshorn, single hook and safety hooks Demonstrate sling protection against sharp edges Demonstrate chain slings (shortening clutches), synthetic slings and wire slings Demonstrate different slinging techniques including; straight, basket hitch, choke hitch, multiple slings, spreader beams configuration
The participants shall: Practise how to responsibly apply different slinging techniques relevant to different types of loads during the practical exercises
TRAINING REVIEW
60 min. The aim of this lesson is to enable the participants to reflect on and process their learning outcome and key takeaways from the module, aiming to achieve a high learning transfer from the module to their way of working. ELEMENT 4.1 - TRAINING REVIEW
