Lesson 3 Practical exercises
All elements aiming at abilities must be practised by the participants throughout lesson 3
New aim: The aim of the lesson is to give the participants the knowledge, skills, and ability to be able to conduct slinger signaller tasks responsibly, safely, and efficiently.
New learning objective for the lesson: The participants take responsibility for their role as a slinger signaller (Ability, intermediate level)
Element 3.2 - Slings New: Explain and discuss how Dyneema slings differ from other sling types. Explain the care required for Dyneema slings. (Dyneema slings do not need to be present) Learning objective: Can take responsibility for correct selection and usage of sling types
C hooks deleted: C hooks have no safety lock and are not used in offshore industry, as only safety is gravity.
Element 3.4 - Lifting bags new learning objective: Can take responsibility for correct selection and usage of lifting bag types.
Element 3.5 - Load attachment point types new learning objective: Can take responsibility for correct selection and usage of load attachment point types
3.5.c A swivel eyebolt is covered in "eyebolts and eye nuts" 3.5.d "Container lugs" added because comlogs and container lugs are different tools
Element 3.6 - Accessory storage new learning objective: Can on their own take responsibility for conducting pre/post use checks correctly.
