We hope you had a great time this season, so many memories were made and as most of you prepare to go back up north to your summer residences, you must ensure you plan and secure your residence here in your absence: • Inform your condominium representative of departure/ return dates and current emergency contact information. Residents should use the Owner/Renter/Vacation Registration form which is on the Seven Lakes website or they can obtain a copy at the Association Office. • Turn off the water to the unit. • Unplug or shut off the circuit breaker to the hot water heater. • Make sure the condensation line in the air conditioning unit is clear. • Replace the batteries in smoke alarms and test to ensure they function properly • Set the thermostat at around 80 degrees to manage the moisture/humidity inside. • Discard perishable items both inside and outside of the refrigerator; leave nothing for ants or rodents to live on • Leave a key to your unit at the front gate in case of emergencies. • Leave a note on the refrigerator door or kitchen counter with emergency contact information. • Arrange for mail delivery changeover; stop newspaper deliveries. • Bring in all patio/balcony furniture and bicycles. • Make sure a proper “Change of Address” card is filled out, if necessary. “Change of Address” cards can be obtained at the Association reception area or at any local post office. Residents should plan to have someone inspect their units every two weeks; check for mildew, flush the toilet, check if the air conditioning is running, and have them perform a thorough inspection of the unit. Not only is this a requirement, but it will give you peace of mind knowing that all is well. In the event there is a problem, it can be dealt with quickly before any damage becomes serious and costly to repair. Taking the extra time to prepare the unit for your absence might just prevent major problems down the road! Also, be sure your current email address is in the Resident Directory on the Seven Lakes website; this will ensure that you receive any e-blasts and allows you to keep in touch with Seven Lakes even if you are hundreds of miles away!

Marcy Moore is one of our newest employees and her role here at Seven Lakes is to be the Contracts Administrative Coordinator, supporting Sven Elshot. Marcy comes to Seven Lakes with over 20 years of experience in industry and has worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and Mosaic Fertilizer. Her experience has been heavily focused on coordinating contractors, environmental compliance, and maintenance assistance. Basically, a QR code works in the same way as a barcode at the supermarket. It is a machine - scannable image that can instantly be read using a Smartphone camera. Scanning these modern - day barcodes with your smartphone lets you quickly open a web page, download an app, send a text message, and much more. You ’ ll see a few in this edition! Try them out.
‘ A Short History of the Planet Earth ’ by Professor Adrian Kerr Friday ~ April 8, 2022 2:00 PM * Large Card Room * $10 per person
WILDLIFE WEDNESDAY April 6, 2022 7:00 PM * Auditorium
When we gaze into the sky at the moon and the visible planets we often wonder about the origin of our solar system, the galaxies and the universe itself. Science cannot confirm who created the universe; this has been left to religion to explain. It has only been in our lifetime that science has been able to demonstrate that it all started with the ‘Big Bang’ 14 billion years ago, the timescale is truly mind stretching. We will follow the fascinating story of how the universal gas and dust clouds formed, how stars were born and died, how our sun collected the majority of the matter in our solar system, how the Earth became a molten ball and then cooled. world. Please sign up with the Lifestyle team for this presentation.
WILDLIFE RESPONSE TO FIRE

Fires are a necessary part of life for some wildlife, stimulating new growth, fungi and mushrooms that produce spores, and some plants needs a fresh area to flourish. Vera Craig ~ A Truly Special Volunteer
One hundred year old Vera Craig, (pictured left), a resident of Seven Lakes for twenty - five years, recently received recognition for volunteering in local elections. She has helped with the local elections as long as she can remember. The certificate reads: Lee County Supervisor of Elections Presented in Appreciation of Outstanding Service to Lee County Very E. Craig with sincere thanks to a special Centenarian Poll Worker, March 22, 2022. Vera was happily surprised to receive the certificate, but what meant the most to her was that Tommy Doyle, Lee County Supervisor, delivered it himself. Vera, who lives in Building 25, plans to volunteer again in the coming election next August.
Congratulations, Vera!

Thank You from the Seven Lakes Chorus
LAST OF THE SEASON:
Tennis Committee Meeting Tuesday, April 5th at 8:30 AM Committee Meeting Room Tennis Club Meeting Monday, April 11th at 6:30 PM Atrium
A big thank you to the Chorus singers who participated in “Thankful,” our 2022 Spring Concert. Your blended voices were a treat to listen to. Special thanks to featured Chorus performers, Barbara Ayers and Barbie Torelli for their beautiful contributions. Our gratitude to Emcee
Jim Jones, who kept the program moving and provided meaningful information (and some humorous
comments) on each number. We also appreciate assistance received from the Maintenance and Lifestyle Departments before and during the concert.

We are indebted to our excellent Director, Walter Griffeth and our

accomplished Accompanist, Sabrina Jansen, who both provided solos in addition to their regular responsibilities. A huge thank you, also, to our very talented Assistant Director, John Taylor, Alto Pam Bricker and Bass Rich DeHaven, who led us in singing and meditating on the patriotic hymn, “America, the Beautiful.” It was John who realized how timely this musical prayer remains in the world we are living in today. Most of all, thank you to members of the audience for supporting the Seven Lakes Chorus. Because of the beauty of your voices during audience participation, we hope that some of you will be interested in singing with us on a regular basis. Rehearsals begin on October 24, 2022 at
