The instructor shall:
Show examples of and lead a discussion about how typical global maritime distress and safety systems (GMDSS) including transponders and locators can enhance the chances of being located by SAR operations, covering the following:
a.
emergency positioning indicating radio beacon (EPIRB)
b.
search and rescue transponder (SART)
c.
personal locating beacon (PLB)
The participants shall:
Engage in the discussions and share understandings about how typical global maritime distress and safety systems (GMDSS) including transponders and locators can enhance the chances of being located by SAR operations
