d.

LOTO

e.

Site procedures

f. Tool maintenance requirements, e.g. control tool lubrication levels etc.

Based on the scenario documents, facilitate activities where participants identify and select the correct bolts, washers and nuts needed to complete the task to specification. The activities should require participants to consider:

a.

Types, sizes and coatings

b.

Bolt length and protrusion

Based on the scenario documents, facilitate activities where participants identify and select appropriate equipment needed to complete the task to specification. The activities should require participants to:

a.

Perform the P in PDR

b. Determine if they should perform a 1-stage or 2-stage tensioning according to turbine manufacturer’s manual

c. Use a thread holding device on the thread at the opposite end to the tensioner

d. Select a tensioner according to bolt size, thread pitch and protrusion

e. Determine if they require spacers (if the protrusion is too long)

f.

Select correct pumps and hoses

g.

Select hydraulic tensioning tools – dropper tensioner

h. Select the correct pumps and hoses for the job, including the need to ensure that pumps are meet the correct power supply requirements (frequency, voltage, phase)

i.

Select appropriate hand tools for completing the job

j. Identify and plan for equipment documentation and maintenance requirements and how this could affect the completing the task

k. Stroke limits and considerations in relation to the selected equipment

Continuously assess participant engagement and learning by actively asking participants to share their understandings and reflect on their actions and considerations
