Explain and lead a discussion on what a PDR process is, why it is used and present some examples of different types, e.g. Safe Work Approach (SWA), Job safety analysis (JSA), task plan, etc.

The participants shall:

Engage themselves in discussions and share understandings about reusing bolts, nuts and washers

Engage themselves in discussions and share understandings about quality assurance in bolt tightening

Engage themselves in discussions and share understandings about PDR procedures for bolt tightening

Share understandings and considerations with instructors and other participants

Take responsibility for their learning by seeking guidance and clarification when in doubt

LESSON 3 - FRAMING THE SCENARIO: BOLT TORQUING USING POWERED TOOLS

The aim of this lesson is to frame the scenario by providing participants with an introduction to bolt torquing using powered tools.

After having successfully completed lesson three of the Bolt Tightening Module, the participants can:

28) Describe the correct attitude for safely working with powered bolt torquing equipment (Knowledge, basic)

29) Explain how bolt torquing is typically carried out in the wind industry using powered tools (Knowledge, intermediate level)
