Based on the scenario documents, facilitate activities where participants are required to perform visual inspection of bolts and bolt components to distinguish between suitable and damaged or compromised bolts and components Based on the scenario documents, facilitate activities where participants are required to perform pre- use inspection of hydraulic tools, pumps and hose components to ensure that they do not pose a safety or quality risk to the specified bolt torquing task Based on the scenario documents, facilitate activities where participants are required to perform pre- use maintenance, calibration and inspection of hydraulic and electrical torque tools and components to ensure that they do not pose a safety or quality risk to the specified bolt torquing task Based on the scenario documents, initiate and facilitate an activity focusing on principles of conducting pre- and post- use inspections on electrical handheld tools, including checks for damage, mandated inspections and calibration, appropriate quarantine actions and tool marking if a tool fails inspection
Share required documents and company specific procedures, including manuals, risk assessments, and guidelines
Provide feedback on the presented lists and their findings
Present examples of tool failures, malfunctions and battery damages and their potential consequences
Based on the scenario documents, facilitate activities where participants are required to take appropriate actions to mitigate damaged or malfunctioning pump, hose and tool components as to ensure that they do not pose a safety or quality risk to the specified bolt torquing task, including:
a.
stop work
b.
quarantine and reporting
c.
repairs including documentation
Facilitate a discussion about risks and hazards from leaks and ruptures on hydraulic powered handheld tools (e.g. risk of hydraulic injection and burns from hot hydraulic oil)
Facilitate that each participant conducts a pre-use inspection of a hydraulic powered hand tool
Present examples of manufacturers’ documentation and company procedures for placing hand tools into quarantine
Continuously assess participant engagement and learning by actively asking participants to share their understandings and reflect on their actions and considerations
Provide participants with instruction, guidance and feedback as required to ensure that learning objectives are met
