The participants shall:
Complete the scenario-based activities to specification
In pairs or small groups, investigate manuals, risk assessments, guidelines, and company specific procedures. Using this documentation, create a step-by-step instruction of how to conduct pre- and post- use inspections on electrical handheld tools. Discuss why these inspections are mandatory
Before the use of hydraulic powered hand tools in practical training, conduct a pre-use inspection as prescribed in the relevant manufacturers’ documentation
Explain to the instructor how awareness of the integrity of the tool during the use of the tool is paramount to ensure safety
Describe why and how to inspect a hydraulic powered hand tool after use and what actions to take in case of leaks, ruptures and similar threats to the integrity of the tool
Take active part in a discussion about how and in what situation a hand tool must be placed into quarantine
Share understandings and considerations with instructors and other participants
Take responsibility for their learning by seeking guidance and clarification when in doubt
