65) The participants can take initiative and take responsibility to ensure that personnel affected by noise use proper hearing protection to mitigate short- and long-term injuries from exposure to noise (Ability, intermediate level) 66) The participants can take responsibility for actions to reduce exposure to vibrating handheld tools, such as job rotation and applying appropriate PPE (e.g. anti vibration gloves) (Ability, intermediate level)

The instructor shall:

Based on the scenario documents, facilitate activities where participants are required to use a combination of electric and hydraulic torquing tools to correctly carry out 1 stage and 2 stage torquing in accordance with the specifications described in the work instructions and bolt torquing manual (found in appendix 2)

Present practical examples of potential consequences from under tightening and over tightening (torque and tension) and from using the incorrect tooling

Ask the participants for examples of bolted connections:

a.

drive shafts

b.

gear box connections

c.

blade root end connections

d.

tower sections

e.

ladder connections

f.

HV busbar connections

Continuously assess participant engagement and learning by observing their correct use of PPE, including anti-vibration gloves and hearing protection where relevant, and by actively asking participants to share their understandings and reflect on their actions and considerations

Provide participants with instruction, guidance and feedback as required to ensure that learning objectives are met

The participants shall:

Complete the scenario-based activities to specification, including mitigating the risk of short- and long-term injuries from exposure to noise and working with vibrating handheld tools (e.g. job rotation and anti-vibration gloves) and exposure to noise)
