Basic Technical Training Standard / V9 2024-06-24
To ensure learning, we recommend that participants are required to select appropriate bolt components and tools from a variety of different options. This does not require the training provider to own a variety of bolts and tools and can be done by using image cards showing different options.
Note
The participants shall:
Complete scenario-based activities to specification
Share understandings and considerations with instructors and other participants
Take responsibility for their learning by seeking guidance and clarification when in doubt
ELEMENT 8.2 - PREPARING FOR THE TASK
Learning objectives:
89) The participants can distinguish between suitable and damaged or compromised bolts, nuts and washers (Skill, intermediate level)
90) The participants can perform a visual inspection of bolts (Skill, intermediate level)
91) The participants can distinguish between functioning and damaged tools, pump and hose components (Skills, intermediate level)
92) The participants can perform appropriate actions to mitigate damaged or malfunctioning pumps and hose components as to ensure that they do not pose a safety or quality risk to the specified bolt tensioning task (Skills, intermediate level)
93) The participants can distinguish between functioning and damaged tool components (Skills, intermediate level)
94) The participants can perform appropriate actions to mitigate damaged or malfunctioning tool components as to ensure that they do not pose a safety or quality risk to the specified bolt tensioning task (Skills, intermediate level)
95) The participants can take responsibility not to use damaged tools and to place damaged tools out of service and under quarantine according to company procedures (Ability, intermediate level)
The instructor shall:
