The participants shall:

Illustrate the consequences of failure to work safely and control hazards using personal stories, case studies, incidents alerts and reports

Engage in discussions about the importance of having everything clean and tidy and its impact on safety and quality

Engage in discussions about the consequences of poor housekeeping

Engage in discussions about the importance of personal commitment to good house keeping

LESSON 4 - INSTALLATION ENVIRONMENTS

The aim of this lesson is to give the participants an understanding of the characteristics of the installation environments.

ELEMENT 4.1 - INSTALLATION ENVIRONMENTS

Learning objectives:

39) The participants can describe the characteristics of installation environments, including site induction, various key working areas, safety behaviour and personnel roles (Knowledge, basic level)

40) The participants can describe the differences between on-shore and off-shore sites (Knowledge, basic level)

The instructor shall:

Explain key on-site working areas (e.g. administration, hardstand, storage, crane operation, preassembly, etc.)

Describe the layout of a typical hardstand

Explain safety behaviour and limitations in the different key areas (refer to Site induction, site specific safety rules)

Explain personnel roles (e.g. Site Manager, Site Supervisors, Team Leaders, installation crew, admin staff, crane operator, Health & Safety, third parties etc.)
